This paper presents the proposal of an architecture for developing systems that interact with Ambient Intelligence (AmI) environments. This architecture has been proposed as a consequence of a methodology for the inclusion of Artificial Intelligence in AmI environments (ISyRAmI - Intelligent Systems Research for Ambient Intelligence).
It is important to notice that the ISyRAmI architecture is centered in the concepts and is oriented for the intelligent behaviour, in spite of being oriented for technologies. In this way, it makes no sense to compare ISyRAmI with other technology-oriented approaches previously proposed for Ambient Intelligence. 2 The ISyRAmI Methodology Artificial Intelligence methods and techniques can be used for different purposes in AmI environments and scenarios. But the central aspect is the provision of security solutions at run-time for Ambient Intelligence applications. This paper is structured in 5 sections, this introduction being the first. Section 2 presents the related works, where we present a review of technologies and systems closer to our proposal. Section 3 introduces some concepts, developed as part of Serenity project, that are important in order to understand the architecture of the infrastructure presented. Section 4 presents the Serenity Run-time Framework.
