The following is a list of organizations that can help provide you with financial support when purchasing assistive devices, mobility devices or home modifications. To determine the eligibility of you or a loved one, contact a representative from the list below.

Funding Assistance
Overview
A government program that provides support and funding to Ontario residents who have long-term physical disabilities. Provides access to assistive devices that meet individuals’ basic needs.

Basic Eligibility
Ontario residents with a valid Ontario Health Card who have a physical disability of 6 months or longer.
ADP will not pay for equipment available under the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) or to Group “A” Veterans for their pensioned conditions.

Overview
The Assistive Devices Program (ADP) of the March of Dimes assists adults with physical disabilities who are in financial need to purchase assistive devices to increase their mobility and functional independence.

Basic Eligibility
- 19 years of age or older
- Has an ongoing physical limitation that requires the use of an assistive device
- In financial need (refer to the Income Eligibility chart)
- A permanent resident of Ontario
Overview
There are a variety of benefits available through Veterans Affairs, including home health care services, nursing services, appointments with specialists (such as physiotherapists and audiologists), medical equipment, prosthetics, and prescriptions.
The extent of your coverage will depend on a number of factors, including how you qualified, your health needs and your individual circumstances.
Basic Eligibility
You will qualify for healthcare coverage and receive a VAC healthcare card if you qualify for:
- a disability benefit,
- the Veterans Independence Program,
- the War Veterans Allowance, or
- financial assistance from VAC for long-term care.
Overview
Provides programs and services to children and youth with physical disabilities across Ontario. Possible maximum of $3,000 for all equipment/service requests per client. Batteries, repairs and replacement parts are not funded.

Parents must attempt to access all other funding sources first. Funded items must be authorized by a healthcare professional.
Overview
The Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program provides eligible First Nations and Inuit clients with coverage for a range of medical items that are not covered through other social programs, private insurance plans, provincial or territorial health insurance.
Overview
The Ontario Seniors Care at Home Tax Credit is a refundable personal income tax credit to help low- to moderate-income seniors with eligible medical expenses, including expenses that support aging at home.
The credit provides up to 25% of claimable medical expenses up to $6,000, for a maximum credit of $1,500. This amount is reduced by 5% of family net income over $35,000 and fully phased out by at most $65,000.
The credit can be claimed in addition to the non‐refundable federal and Ontario medical expense tax credits for the same eligible expenses.
Basic Eligibility
You are eligible to claim the credit if you:
- turned 70 years of age or older in the year, or have a spouse or common‐law partner who turned 70 years of age or older in the year; and
- are resident in Ontario at the end of the tax year.
